Frequently-anticipated questions:

What does this data set describe?

Title: SDETrims.DBO.Rec_StateParks
Abstract:
Polygon coverage of Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) properties including Parks, Wildlife Management Areas and Fish Hatcheries.
Supplemental_Information:
This data was received from Chris Beckcom, TPW Infrastructure Planner, as a shapefile in the TxDOT projection. The shapefile was converted to an ArcInfo coverage using SHAPEARC and the projection was changed from the TxDOT Lambert projection to the Texas Statewide Mapping System (Lambert). Mislabeled properties were corrected and multi-unit properties were further defined with unit name. Attributes added: Name - as they would appear on a map; x-coord and y-coord - a copy of the coverage was projected to geographic NAD83 and ADDXY run to get the coordinates. The coordinate information was copied to the oringinal coverage; County_1 through County_4 - for listing counties the properties cover; Type - Type of property, abbreviated; Position - position names will appear on map: 1=left, 2=right, 3=inset left, 4=inset right.

This coverage will be updated as new boundaries are provided by the various Departments.
